Last year, the Environmental Protection Agency issued a new roadmap for integrating environmental justice into its policies, programs and daily work. In January 2012, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation proposed regulations implementing the environmental justice provisions of New York's recently-enacted power plant siting law. EPA officials and leading environmental justice advocates and scholars will discuss these and other recent developments, and the incorporation of environmental justice principles into the environmental review and permitting process.
