Ursula N. Embola joined WE ACT for Environmental Justice in May 2004 as the organization’s Director of Development. Prior to joining WE ACT, Ursula served as the Director of Research and Capacity Building at the National Puerto Rican Forum, a workforce development community-based organization founded by the late Dr. Antonia Pantoja (who also founded ASPIRA). Ursula is a seasoned grant writer and fundraiser, with a track record of success spanning more than a decade. 

As head of WE ACT’s Development Department, Ursula’s primary responsibility at WE ACT is to serve as the organization’s lead grant writer and liaison with donors. Originally from the Republic of Cameroon in West /Central Africa, Ursula has been living in the United States since 1997, and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Creative Writing and English Literature from the University of Buea (Cameroon), Manhattanville College (Purchase, NY) and Drew University (Madison, NJ).
