Earth Day is April 22nd and New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, in collaboration with Pace Law School, is hosting a webcast forum to identify the most significant environmental issues facing New York State and to share the initiatives his office is undertaking to confront these problems. WE ACT's Executive Director Peggy M. Shepard will be part of a roundtable of NYS environmental leaders featured on the webcast forum, where she and others will be discussing current environmental challenges and solutions.
In preparation for the 38th anniversary of Earth Day, Comptroller DiNapoli invites you to join him to reflect upon the environmental challenges facing us as New Yorkers and to identify opportunities to work together to improve the health of our planet.
The webcast forum is designed for government officials, advocates, educators, students and the general public. It will give interested parties an opportunity to learn more about the issues and submit questions to a panel of top experts on the environment.

Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli’s Environmental Record
Comptroller DiNapoli has been a strong advocate for New York’s environment during his more than two decades in public service. As a former Assemblyman from Long Island, he championed a number of legislative initiatives, including the Pine Barrens Protection Act, the ban on the gasoline additive MTBE, the establishment of the Brownfields Cleanup Program, the enactment of the Pesticide Neighbor Notification Act, and numerous other measures to improve the quality of the State’s drinking water. As the former chair of the New York State Assembly Committee on Environmental Conservation, DiNapoli brings an unprecedented level of environmental expertise to the Comptroller’s office. This first-of-its-kind environmental webcast is the product of his dedicated effort to bring awareness of environmental issues to the people of New York State.
