
Francisca Porchas
Francisca Porchas is the lead organizer of the Clean Air, Clean Lungs, Clean Buses Campaign, the global warming and public health project of the Labor/Community Strategy Center. Born in Sonora, Mexico and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Francisca is a 2003 graduate of the Strategy Center’s National School for Strategic Organizing. Her work is at the intersection of mass transit, public health and climate change. Her organizing is primarily focused on working class communities of color in the 10 million person mega-city and auto capital of the world--Los Angeles. She will be releasing soon her first major policy paper, "Global Warming and the Fight for the Transit Future: from Los Angeles to the World," written in collaboration with Strategy Center Clean Air Campaign Organizers.
