James K. Boyce is professor of economics at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and director of the program on development, peacebuilding, and the environment at the Political Economy Research Institute (http://www.peri.umass.edu/). His books include The Political Economy of the Environment (Edward Elgar, 2002), and Reclaiming Nature: Environmental Justice and Ecological Restoration(Anthem Press, 2007).
