Youth Leadership & Development
The goal of WE ACT’s Youth Leadership & Development Program is to prepare the next generation to understand and confront environmental racism by enhancing their leadership skills as well as their ability to understand and value the natural and built environment. Although not currently in place due to space restrictions, our youth initiatives in the past primarily involved African American and Latino youth in Northern Manhattan, and provided numerous educational and practical learning experiences in the field of environmental justice. The Youth Leadership and Development Program will be reinitiated when we move into our new home – the WE ACT Environmental Justice Center of New York. Our past projects include the following:
