Transportation determines how we get to the places where we live, work, play, pray and learn. Unfortunately, the transportation system in New York is flawed due to imbalanced funding that favors cars over other modes of transportation.
Over the past two years, Albany took over $260 million dollars of funding reserved for public transit to balance the state’s overall budget. These raids left transit riders with higher fares, the loss of 2 subway lines and 37 bus routes.
