Climate Ready Uptown Plan: Virtual Workshop

Commemorate Emergency Preparedness Month by Planning for Climate Emergencies!

Because the climate crisis disproportionately impacts communities of color, our Climate Justice Working Group partnered with East Harlem COAD and Harlem Emergency Network to develop a comprehensive community-driven emergency preparedness plan for Northern Manhattan that focuses on climate-related disasters. Our award-winning Climate Ready Uptown Plan (CRUP) is a physical pamphlet that helps Northern Manhattan community members understand their individual risk to climate related disasters – specifically extreme heat and coastal & stormwater flooding – and provides pertinent information to help prepare themselves and their families.

Throughout the summer of 2023, we have hosted in-person emergency preparedness workshops throughout Northern Manhattan. In this two-hour virtual workshop, offered in both English and Spanish, WE ACT will distribute the digital CRUP pamphlet (in English and in Spanish) to attendees and engage participants in the basics of how to use and personalize their version of CRUP.

Join our FINAL workshop on Wednesday, September 7th at 6:00 PM via Zoom. RSVP Here!
