Film Screening & Urban Heat Panel Discussion
Join WE ACT and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai for a FREE screening of Cooked: Survival by Zip Code, a documentary film that explores how extreme weather events like heatwaves have a disproportionate impact on low-income communities and communities of color. Stick around after the screening for a panel discussion on the Urban Heat Island effect with the film’s producer/director Judith Helfand, WE ACT’s Climate Programs & City Policy Manager Cynthia Herrera, and other special guests. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Perry E. Sheffield, Assistant Professor of Environmental Medicine & Public Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Refreshments will be provided, but please RSVP.
