Lead Poisoning Prevention Workshop
New York has more children with elevated blood lead levels than any other state in the nation. And children of color account for more than 80 percent of new cases in children under 6 years old. Children exposed to lead can suffer permanent neurological damage.
As part of both the statewide Lead Free Kids New York coalition and the New York City Coalition to End Lead Poisoning, WE ACT is participating in a number of press events next week. And we are hosting a Lead-Poisoning Prevention Workshop at our Harlem office (1854 Amsterdam Avenue, at 152nd Street) on Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 6-8 PM. Come learn how you can protect children from lead poisoning and sign-up for free lead testing kits. RSVP here.
