Participatory Budgeting and Outreach Training

Participatory Budgeting is a civic engagement program that enables people to choose what public projects to fund in their neighborhoods. And as a community-driven organization that empowers communities to power change, WE ACT has historically been active in a number of Participatory Budgeting initiatives over the years.

To prepare our members for this year’s Participatory Budgeting process, which runs from mid-March through early April, WE ACT is offering a training workshop that will explain the Participatory Budgeting process and teach essential outreach techniques to ensure success. In addition, WE ACT members who take this training will have the opportunity to get paid to do voter outreach for Participatory Budgeting.

This training session will be held at WE ACT’s New York headquarters – 1854 Amsterdam Avenue, 2nd Floor – on Monday, March 11th from 6-8 PM. And we strongly encourage bilingual individuals capable of speaking in both English and Spanish to attend.

If you are a WE ACT member and want to get paid to do Participatory Budgeting outreach, then attending this training is MANDATORY!
