Do you want to learn how to shape your story and be more effective when talking to journalists and elected officials? WE ACT for Environmental Justice and the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health are offering an interactive Spokesperson Training workshop exclusively for WE ACT Members and Mailman School of Public Health Staff.
When: Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 6:00-7:30 PM ET
WE ACT MEMBERS: We Need Your Support!
We have an aggressive policy agenda for 2021, and we are looking to you – our members – to help us advance it. What can you do to help?
- You can volunteer to talk with reporters writing about environmental justice issues, telling them about how a particular issue has affected you or your family.
- You can join us for Advocacy Days and speak at public hearings, sharing your story about why these issues are important to you and your community.
- You can provide testimonials, which we will write or record for you, sharing your story about how a particular issue has impacted you or your family.
Attending this training will help you prepare for all of the above. We will help you better explain what you want to communicate. And we will make you more comfortable – and confident – about telling your story.
