Workshop on the Environmental Justice Implications of New York’s Green Amendment

Have you heard about New York State’s new Green Amendment? New Yorkers voted to add environmental rights to the Bill of Rights in the State Constitution. What are these new rights, and what do they mean for environmental justice?

Join us on Thursday, July 13 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM for our virtual workshop learn about this amendment. Anticipated panelists include Kartrina “Professor Q” Kuh, Distinguished Professor at Pace University’s Elisabeth Haub Law School and developer of the Amendment; Barbara Olshansky, celebrated Civil Rights lawyer & General Counsel at WE ACT; and a representative from the Environmental Protection Bureau of the New York Attorney General’s Office. We will discuss how the amendment was developed to court interpretations and plans for enforcement as well as the implications for environmental justice.
