Caitlin Buchanan serves as a Federal Policy Associate with WE ACT for Environmental Justice. She is responsible for executing activities that support the federal legislative and advocacy priorities of the organization. Prior to joining WE ACT, Caitlin worked for Chairwoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space and Technology. During her time on Capitol Hill, Caitlin focused on issues related to environmental justice, environmental liability, toxic chemicals, and defending federal climate science.
Caitlin graduated magna cum laude from The University of the South (Sewanee) with a Bachelor of Art in political science. Currently, she is a student at The George Washington University, Elliott School of International Affairs, and is pursuing a Master of Art in international science and technology policy. Caitlin’s studies focus on the intersection of environmental policy, climate change, and public health. She is particularly interested in science and technology policies that can help mitigate the impact of climate change on vulnerable communities.
