Leslie Martinez (she/her) is the Community Health Organizer at WE ACT for Environmental Justice, working to raise public awareness of environmental justice issues affecting people of color and low-income residents in Northern Manhattan. Her passion for environmental justice began as a resident of Harlem and a WE ACT member. Born and raised in Harlem, Leslie is active and passionate about her community, sustainable development, and social justice. With a wide range of experience, she has worked in investigations as a Peace Corps volunteer in eSwatini, and as a program coordinator. Leslie received her Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Albany in Globalization and her Master’s from John Jay College for Criminal Justice in International Crime and Justice.
