As Development Associate, Rachel supports the organization’s efforts to identify and secure funding to support a range of campaigns and initiatives that develop healthy, resilient, and sustainable communities. With an interest in environmental education, Rachel formerly taught as an elementary Summer Camp educator at City Growers where she introduced students to sustainable urban agriculture concepts at the Brooklyn Grange and encouraged healthy lifestyle practices. Also a former intern for City Growers, Rachel wore multiple hats, providing development support and leading student workshops on the rooftop farm. Rachel recently graduated from New York University with a B.A. in Environmental Studies, and spent her senior project analyzing the importance of public spaces in NYC and their importance for social resilience planning.
