Arkansas native Samantha “Sam” Doss is the Development Associate at WE ACT for Environmental Justice. In addition to supporting the Director of Development, she coordinates the logistics of the organization’s annual Gala, which is its primary source of individual and corporate donations. She also manages Uptown Chats, an ongoing event series designed to attract donors and strengthen membership. A recent graduate of Columbia University’s Barnard College, with a degree in Urban Studies and a specialization in Environmental Science and Sustainability, Sam came to WE ACT having already served as a Policy Intern and then as a Communications Intern for the organization. She has also worked as a Policy Intern at Columbia University’s Sabin Center for Climate Change Law and was an Arthur Liman Undergraduate Fellow in Public Interest Law at the Yale Law School. During her time at Barnard, she was an activist in the successful Divest Barnard from Fossil Fuels campaign as well as the Head Writing Fellow at Barnard College’s Writing Fellows.
