Sha’Niece Simmons

Sha’Niece Simmons is the Chief of Staff at WE ACT for Environmental Justice in the Federal Policy Office, serving a critical role in facilitating change management and strategic direction in alignment with the mission and vision of the organization while ensuring a culture of collaboration and teamwork. Prior to joining WE ACT, Sha’Niece worked in education and education-based nonprofits for over a decade. She has served in numerous capacities in the education field from compliance and operations, program and project management, student success and advising, along with being a middle school Family & Consumer Science educator.

Sha’Niece completed her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Human Science at North Carolina Central University along with a Project Management and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace certificate in 2021. She serves as her Class Reunion Committee Chair for the North Carolina Central University Alumni Association along with volunteering in the local community. She lives by the North Carolina Central University motto Truth & Service in all of her endeavors and brings that mindset to WE ACT.
